I really liked this one!

Let’s All Be Brave: Living Life with Everything You Have is Annie F. Downs’ first offering for adult readers (she’s the author of three books for teens) and she’s built a good bridge for herself between these two readerships.  She writes like a friend, vacillating from the tone of big sister to one of a peer. It works. The strongest sections are the ones where she’s the most candid: talking about her struggle with weight, and about the challenge of being single long past the point where she was sure she’d be married. I appreciated her honesty about how hard it was to write about these topics–I hope she makes hard writing a regular practice, because she’s good at it. I’ll look forward to more from her.
