Tongue Pierced is by far my favorite of Searcy’s books. I was surprised by how much his exhortation to think and speak in a positive way stirred something inside me. I’m a longtime believer in lining up my thoughts and words with Biblical principles, so the material here wasn’t new to me. But Searcy’s tone and approach strike just the right balance to convince readers to act, not just agree. I can’t put my finger on why that is, but it makes this book a fantastic read that improved my approach to daily life and connected me more to God. He mentions the oft-quoted maxim that who you are now is who you will be in 5 years, except for two things: the people you associate with and the books you read. I’m glad I let this book influence my trajectory.
